"NOW BOOKING -BLUEFISH /FLUKE COMBO TRIPS"
RATES
6 HOUR TRIP----$595.00
BLUEFISH CHUMMING----$650.00
8/16/10... Fluking was basically the same as it has been for the past few days. Action with the shorts and keepers tough to find for the Bob S. charter. Looks like the bluefish chumming bite has finally stated. Hopefully the Albacore will be part of the mix.
8/13/10...Strong Easterly winds made fishing quite difficult today. We were unable to reach our usual fishing grounds for the Mike S. charter. With that said, we did manage some keeper fluke and many throw backs.
8/10/10,,,Conditions, conditions, conditions. That's the difference between poor and solid fluke fishing. On Saturday, conditions were poor and althought we had over 40 fluke , there were only 2 keepers for the John P charter. Today the conditions were perfect for 3 hours and we boated over 60 fluke with 14 keepers to 3 lbs for the Ed and John charter. Watta difference!!!
8/2/10... More DOORMAT FLUKE paid us a visit today. Dean, Nick,John ,Joe and friends boated two beauties that were 6 1/2 lbs and 7 1/2 pounds respectively. The also caught a load of "big" throwbacks plus additional nice sized keepers. A perfect day!!!
8/1/10... It was a nice mixed catch of stripers to 32 inches, keeper fluke that ranged from 19 to 21 inches, bluefish and a seabass for the Jeff R. charter. We are one of the few boats that still pursue and catch the summer time resident striped bass. When the tide is right, the bite is hot for the bass. Nice sized fluke are stacked up in the channels and the bluefish are mixed in with the bass.
7/24/10...Our last two trips resulted in 8 striped bass (1 keeper), loads of fluke and seabass and no bluefish. Most of the fluke and sea bass were shorts. The volume is there, the keepers (thanks to incredibly unfair federal regulations)are difficut to find. Why can commercial draggers keep 14 inch fluke and we have to throw back 2 pound 17 1/2 inch fluke??????? Extremely frustrating!!!!!!
7/17/10...The last 3 trips have been for fluke. It has been a situation of catching a lot of shorts with some keepers mixed in or looking for the big ones in the deep and catching a few. That decision is up to the charter. We boated a 6lb 5 oz and a 7 lb 4 oz fluke on the days they decided to look for the big ones. Not a lot around, but when one does connect, it is a memorable fish. We will be going after the bass and blues on the next couple of trips. Happy fishing !! Mike
7/11/10... Today was day 2 of the Sandy Hook Bay Anglers fluke tournament for the Nick J. charter. We tried to find more productive fishing grounds and traveled to many spots in a 50 mile search. Unfortunately it was strike 3 at every place we fished. Tough day for a fantastic group of fisherman. Very disappointing......
7/10/10...It was the Sandy Hook Bay Anglers fluke tournament for the John P. charter today. We had a nice pick of fluke in the deep with a qualifier of 5 pounds 6 ounces. Will have to wait until tomorrow at 5pm to see if it is a money fish.
7/5/10...I know this sounds redundant, but the fishing for stripers continues to be excellent. Today Dean, his son Nick, friend Joe from JP and friends caught 8 bass up to 25 lbs on fresh bunker and bunker spoons. The area is loaded with bunker and bass as we speak.
7/2/10...It was an excellent day of fishing for the Joe Mc and John C charter as we once again had a limit catch of 10 striped bass. The fishing was red hot for 1 1/2 hours on the start of the incoming tide. See todays photo on our home page.
6/26/10...The striped bass fishing continues to be excellent. Todays charter, Walter K and friends, caught another near limit of stripers in the 20 -25 pound class. The fish are not far. If you are thinking of a trip, now is the time.
2/24/10...Another interesting day. After looking for the big bass for over 5 hours, we finally found them and had red hot fishing for 20 -25 pound stripers for the Bob Mcd charter. When the fat lady finally sang, all were happy (Capt. included!)
6/20/10... The best day of the year!!! After poking around with only 2 decent striped bass, we decided to go for sea bass at 10:30 am. As we were approaching the sea bass grounds, the ocean erupted with stripers in the 28-35 pound class. The area was the size of a football field. The charter kept 8 trophy bass and released over a dozen (see photo page). Watta day!!!!
6/19/10... A dismal day for a wonderful charter. The bottom fell out and we only could produce 2 short bass, some bluefish and released some black fish. Hope Fathers Day is better.
6/14/10...Well, Ed lit one hell of a candle last night. Today Ed, John and the Picatinnany fishing club limited out with 12 striped bass in the 20 lb to 30 lb range by 9am!! Awesome catch for a great group of guys.
6/13/10...How shall we say it? It was a great day fishing and a horrible day catching. We got our first "donut"(the hole in the middle of a donut) today. Some would say the "horse collar" or "nada" or even "zippo". Wah happened?? After a great catch yesterday, this happens. Light a candle for tomorrow Ed. I know I will!!!
6/12/10...It was solid fishing and a near limit catch of stripers to 29 lbs for the Tony and friends charter today. The vast majority were caught on clams. The lunker on a bunker spoon.
6/8/10...Another banner day with another limited catch of stripers for the Bob S. and John M. party. Four of the fish were in the 20 lb range and the rest were in the low to upper teens. Great day of clamming.
6/7/10..Today it was quantity over quality with another limit catch of stripers for Dean and his party. The fish ranged from 29-35 inches on clams.
6/4/10 &6/5/10...Quality over quantity was the rule for this weekend. Sunday was the best of both days with bass between 18 to 29 lbs.
6/3/10...It was a decent bite for Brian and friends of a dozen striped bass. All fish were caught on clams. The bite died on the change of tide.
5/30/10...Today's charter with Tony,Bob and families had the suprise catch of the year. A 53 lb drumfish (see photo page) along with a pick of stripers to 21 lbs.
5/29/10...The bite was on for the Stan T. charter from the moment we dropped the anchor until 1/2 hour before the end of the incoming tide. High hook had 7 bass. All fish were caught on clams.
5/28/10...Today all is right with the world (fishing world that is). We were able to once again limit out on striped bass to 20 lbs for the John P. charter on clams.
5/27/10...The Chris G. charter had somewhat of a difficult day with the bass. We did manage to pick away and put 4 bass into the box that were of the 36 in -40in variety. Need a new ball park tomorrow.
5/24/10...Todays charter with Nick J, Rob & John S plus crew had another spectacular day of Striped Bass fishing. The limited out with 14 bass in the 29-38 in. range. The bass were caught on both clams and bunker spoons.
